Lately Vin has really been into the story of the 'Three Little Pigs' - I seem to have a condition where I can't read a book without thinking 'how can we turn this into a playtime activity?' so our two obsessions met and I made him this set of pretend play puppets.
I cut the shapes out of craft foam and stuck them onto popsicle sticks - I love their cute little curly tails on the back!
Vin has a love/hate thing with the big bad wolf - he gets really into the story but will freak out if we get too scary! I'm hoping it's just an overactive imagination, and will calm down as he gets older and udnerstands the difference between real and pretend. I figured I'd better make a kind of friendly looking wolf, with whiskers instead of sharp teeth all the same.
We used our little piggie puppets in some more pretend play - I'll share with you tomorrow!

My girls would love this! It's one of their favorite stories!
ReplyDeleteCharolotte thanks for sharing on our LOVE BOOKs Link up. Retelling a story can be so fun and great for their imaginations to grow into new stories too. I love your little wolf! http://theeducatorsspinonit.blogspot.com/p/love-books.html
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought of foam and sticks. I kept putting it off, because all I could picture was felt and sewing. Foam, foam I can do.
